I originally set up these routers in a similar fashion last week, for a LAN party. Apparently, the host lacked a HUB. I offered one of my Linksys Routers. True, it's meant for allowing multiple computers to access the internet, but thanks to the DHCP server, everything connected is on a network. So I thought it would act well as a HUB. We ran through a few tests, it did fine. I could host a game, and he could join, and vice-versa. That was with one of these routers. It has 4 ports. We were expecting 9 machines. Of course, not everyone had a wireless card to connect to the router that way, so I had to think of a way to get my other old router workign with it too. After a lot of research and experimenting that night, I got them both working together. The bottom one acts as a Switch. Thanks to the setup, I had 6 physical ports for them to connect, and the rest of us connected wirelessly. Afterwards, I decided to make my ghetto-rigged LAN Hub a bit better. Today I added the final touch - I tossed the stock attenae, and added a much better indoor attenna. I bound the routers together with zip ties. I did the same with the attenna. It looked so awesome, I had to take a picture. So here it is. Yes, it looks very messy and unprofessional... that's the point. <3
